SHADOW THEATRE

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Cardboard box (the size and shape depends on what you have at home. There are many options that will work!)
  • X-act
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • Punch
  • Hot glue gun (or other quick-drying glue)
  • Kebab sticks
  • Black cardboard
  • Thin white fabric

HOW TO MAKE:

On one surface of the box, cut out an opening with the x-ato.
With the piece of cardboard that you have removed, draw the side flaps of the theatre and cut them out in a shape worthy of the best of stages!
For the top, use a longer piece of cardboard. Draw it out and cut it out.
Glue these boards to the sides and top of the future stage.
Decorate them as you like.
Next, place the white fabric on the box and draw a rectangle that should be a little larger than the opening you have made.
Cut out the fabric along the line. Turn the box upside down and, on the inside of the stage, stick the fabric on tightly.
On pieces of black card, draw your characters. As it’s Easter, you can choose motifs alluding to this season, such as rabbits, eggs, chicks, baskets, carrots. In short, whatever your imagination brings!
Glue kebab sticks in your artworks (it may be necessary to cut the stick a little so that it fits in the theatre).
The box will also be used to keep the characters you have made and many others that you may come up with.
Now all you have to do is write your play and act it out!
(Don’t forget to put a lamp on the inside of the stage, pointing towards the stage!)

Make a video call to the family and perform it for everyone.

I’m sure that, even without leaving home, you will make this Easter unforgettable and spread all the love you feel for each other! ❤️
